So what does a typical week involve at HWUBC?
A detailed training plan is given to all athletes every week (see sample above). The plan is designed to develop the fitness and strength of all members as best as possible, while taking into account academic commitments. It is tailor made to prepare athletes for race season. The plan is tough but with enough determination it will leave you in the best position to bring home the medals come regatta season.
All but the water sessions are on campus in and around the Centre for Sport and Excercise. Our water sessions take place at Strathclyde Park, transport is provided and paid for by Heriot Watt Sports Union as part of each individuals membership.
The club embarks on an annual Easter training camp which prepares members for the summer regattas. The location of the 2017/18 camp is yet to have been decided.
