Over the weekend, two members of HWUBC represented the club at the annual British Rowing Sculling Festival at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. The festival incorporates all things sculling, starting with a time trial which acts as seeding for head to head racing, as well as a 250m sprint and manoeuvrability skills testing.
John Heuchan raced in the Men's Main event, finishing 21st overall in the opening 3800m TT (12th u23), and eventually placing 25th overall for the entire weekend.
Sam Archibald, who only learnt to row at HWUBC in September 2016 competed in the Men's Beginner event and followed up his 8th place TT position by finishing 6th overall. Sam's final position was the best placing from any other Scottish club in his category and is a good testament to the commitment he has shown over the last year.
