The Scottish Indoor Championships were held virtually for the second year running, allowing competitors from all over the world to compete against each other. This year we had 14 members take part, compared to previous years this is an excellent turnout. Regardless of finishing position, we held a great day of racing at Oriam, and many of us managed to set new personal bests. The full event is available to rewatch on YouTube, the stream includes some live footage of our races.
SSS Beginner (2km) - Out of the four beginner men the club entered into this category, we had three of them place in the top 10. This includes a 3rd place from Nathaniel Fishburn. Nathaniel was 13 seconds behind the Strathclyde University Boat Club competitor who finished 2nd place.
SSS (2km) - The two competitors representing the club in this category placed 7th and 8th.
SSS Lightweight (2km) - The three competitors representing the club in this category placed 5th, 6th, and 8th.
Women’s SSS (2km) - Five of our senior women represented the club in this category, all finishing within the top 10. Vivienne Archibald, finishing 4th, was just 6 seconds shy of third place, taken by a competitor from Dundee University Boat Club.
SSS Team (4x90s) - Our men’s team were the only competitors within their category, therefore they achieved 1st place within this race.
