Saturday 3rd June saw a scorching day of racing for 2 of the club members on day 1 of Scot Champs. An early start saw Lizzie in the fourth race of the day, in the W1x time trial, and claim her place in the E final. Ben later in the afternoon competed in the Open Int1x and came 3rd progressing through to the final, finishing 4th overall in a very competitive category.
Day 2 began with Glenn having his second singles race since joining in the Open Nov 1x, and after facing some challenges in the time trial was able to make his way to the B final. The Open 2x saw Ross and Andrew competing, and they were able to gain experience racing against high caliber crews. Sunday 4th was also a special day for the club, as after being delayed on several occasions, members of the club were able to join with alumni for a long overdue boat naming. Gillian Stewart joined us during the gap in racing for the naming of the Kangua double, christened with a favorite of hers, a gin and tonic! The afternoon saw another 2 beginners, Sam and Filip, taking out the double for the Open Nov2x and Emily rounding up the day in the WInt 1x with determination down the course finishing 3rd overall.
